OSFED – What is this?

Whilst some eating disorders have clear defined diagnostic criteria’s people suffering from an eating that don’t fall into definite categories will be put in a sub-group called “OSFED” – Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorders.

The most simplest way to describe this is if two eating disorders cross over, for example: Anorexia (Binge Eating Type) That person will restrict their intake of food for a period of time and once resuming their eating they will eat huge amounts of food and use ways of ridding themselves of that food through vomiting laxative abuse or over exercise.
