MY BODY
What are my thoughts on the medical term B.M.I.
It’s a bit complicated but I will try.
You see the B means body the only one I’ve got.
Morbidly obese is a phrase I hear a lot.
But I’m struggling to break free.
From an eating disorder that was killing me.
The M to me means this body is mine.
If you don’t like what you see just please be kind.
You don’t know what happened to me to lead me on this path.
So if you can’t say something nice be quiet and leave it at that.
The I to me means ignorance of a mental health disorder.
My mind causing me havoc with an eating disorder.
BMI is such an easy thing to say.
But not to someone with an eating disorder that won’t go away.
So educate yourself before you assume someone’s BMI .
Let them speak and give them a right to reply.
Before you put people in boxes and leave them there.
Give them some help show them that you care.
